Terms of sale, shipping and returns
These terms cover buying a GrocerAid and using the GrocerAid app and service. By placing an order or creating an account, you agree to them.
Who we are
GrocerAid is sold by [Company legal name], [mailing address] ("we" or "us"). You can reach us at support@groceraid.com.
What GrocerAid is
GrocerAid is a camera, the GrocerAid app, and our online service, which reads what the camera records. The camera needs the service and a Wi‑Fi connection to work. We improve GrocerAid over time, so features may change.
GrocerAid helps you keep track of your pantry, but it can make mistakes. Don't rely on it where a mistake could cause harm, such as keeping track of medicine.
Orders and payment
Prices are in US dollars. Sales tax, where it applies, and shipping are shown at checkout before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe, and we charge you when you place your order. Stripe emails you a receipt, and we email you a tracking link when your order ships.
If we can't fill an order, or a price was listed in error, we cancel the order and refund you in full.
Pre-orders
While GrocerAid is on pre-order, checkout says when it's expected to ship. Pre-orders ship in the order they were placed.
You can cancel a pre-order for a full refund at any time before it ships. Email support@groceraid.com from the address you ordered with.
If we can't ship by the date we gave, we'll email you before it passes, with a new date and the choice to cancel for a full refund. If the new date is more than 30 days after the first one, we'll cancel and refund your order unless you tell us you'd rather wait.
Shipping
We ship to addresses in the United States. Once GrocerAid is in stock, orders usually leave our warehouse within 3 business days, and pre-orders ship as described above. We email you a tracking link when yours ships. Shipping options and costs are shown at checkout.
If your GrocerAid arrives damaged, email us a photo within 7 days of delivery and we'll send a replacement.
Returns and refunds
You can return GrocerAid within 30 days of delivery for a full refund of the purchase price. To start a return, email support@groceraid.com with your order number and we'll send instructions.
Once we receive the camera, we refund your original payment method within 10 business days. [Who pays for return shipping]
Warranty
GrocerAid has a 1-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use, starting on the day it's delivered. If yours stops working because of a defect, email us. We'll repair it, replace it, or refund what you paid.
The warranty doesn't cover damage from accidents, misuse, liquids, or repairs by anyone other than us. It gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights that vary by state.
Your account
You must be 18 or older to create an account. Keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens in your account, and for the people you invite to your household.
Using GrocerAid
- Use GrocerAid in your own home, where you have the right to record.
- Let the people in your home know it's there.
- Don't use GrocerAid to record anyone where the law requires their consent and you don't have it.
- Don't try to break into, overload, or copy the GrocerAid service.
Software and updates
We give you a personal license to use the GrocerAid app and the camera's software with your GrocerAid. Updates install automatically over Wi‑Fi. Except where the law allows it, don't copy, modify or reverse engineer the software.
Some of that software is open source, made by others (see our open-source credits). Its own licenses govern it, and nothing in these terms limits the rights they give you, including changing the camera's open-source library and reverse engineering the camera's software to debug such changes.
Ending the service
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms. If we ever plan to shut down the GrocerAid service, we'll tell you in advance by email.
Disclaimers and liability
Apart from the warranty above, and to the extent the law allows, GrocerAid is provided as is, without other warranties.
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for your GrocerAid. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
Changes and contact
When we change these terms, we update the date at the top. Changes don't apply to orders placed before them. Questions go to support@groceraid.com.
